The Synopsis for My Babysitter's a Vampire (2010) 720p

Ethan Morgan is a geeky freshman, not trusted by his parents to stay home alone with his little sister Jane. They hire Erica, a girl from Ethan's high school who is a huge fan of "Dusk", as a babysitter. However, Erica comes across her best friend Sarah, and Jesse, Sarah's vampire ex-boyfriend, on the night she is to babysit, and decides to attend a party that Jesse is throwing instead. During a fight between Sarah and Jesse, Sarah ends up at Ethan's house and tells Ethan's parents that she was asked to babysit instead. Ethan has a vision when touching Sarah, and notices she has no reflection in the mirror, leaving him suspicious of her. He confides this in his dorky best friend, Benny. Sarah leaves to get Erica back from the party, knowing the party is full of bloodthirsty vampires. Curious, the boys have Benny's grandmother watch over Jane while they follow Sarah. They see her feed on a rat and realize she is a vampire. Sarah quickly explains that she is only a fledgling, a vampire ...

My Babysitter's A Vampire is the Disney version of Twilight. It may bea little cheesy and not particularly scary but it's a fun supernaturalmovie that is enjoyable to watch. The cast of characters are adorableyet goofy. It's nice to see some new talent and they actually do areally good job with engaging the audience.

I'm also very impressed with the concept and story idea. They seem tohave thought out the idea as it had multi-dimensional plot lines thatcame together nicely in the end. Now I don't want to be too harsh sohonestly I don't believe I would make any changes to improve the film. It's a solid effort and perfect spooky Halloween viewing.

I saw a DVD release of this, and technically it's not a master-piece(sound, image and editing), but content-wise it's one of the firstmovies in a long (looong) time that gets close to having the sameexcellent spirit that is in the old "nightmare on elm street" films :)Sure, it's not at all similar, in terms of story, but it just has thatspecial something that makes it very enjoyable to watch.

Great cast :) The movie could easily have been longer. In fact itshould have been, since there were some scenes that seemed to come outof the blue (Benny and the popcorn-girl scene, for example) likesomething was edited out.

It's quite obvious that this is a pilot to a serial, rather than madeto be just a standalone film. But if you love the show, getting thebackstory is very pleasing. In the show there are many references topast events, but in the film we finally (I saw the serial before thefilm, so everything is chronologically reverse for me) see these thingshappen :)

It's fun, it'll make you smile, it's friendly, and it's even a bitscary at times :)

All in all a keeper you can easily watch more than once :)

(I just wish it was released on bluray though, and with as goodsound-quality as the show has when broadcast on Disney-channel. The DVDis sub-standard technically so that's why I give it 7 out of 10. Thelike-factor is higher)

After learning his fellow student babysitter is a vampire, a kid andhis best friend team up with her to battle an evil vampire looking toharvest souls from the town's residents.

For a teeny-bopper vampire film, this one turned out to be a lot morefun than anticipated. One of the better features is that it manages tomake the vamps something to be feared. Despite being set in a world ofromantic vampire-lord, the creatures here are incredibly threateningand much more like traditional vampires, setting up a plan to stealsouls, putting more interest in feasting than romanticizing and evenopenly attacking people to turn them into fellow vampires, making it alot more savvy in dealing with these issues than would be expected.Even more telling is how much it deals with battling the vamps, managing to contain a lot more battles and confrontations which are alot more intense, from the big brawl with the pizza-man to the raid onthe house party as well as several other pretty big battles in here. These make the film a lot more action-packed and keeps it from beingboring, as the darker-themed storyline and investigations also help outand the humor mixes well with the fair amount of suspense for a rathersatisfying film. The only real down-side, aside from the lack ofon-screen vampire violence, is the rather cheesy nature of this onederived from it's teen-centered approach as the jokes and attitudestowards what are supposedly-frightening figures who are instead treatedas comical beings is a bit problematic to take for a more seasonedhorror fan, yet strangely makes it a more-than-serviceable entry as astarter-horror feature.

Rated Unrated/PG: Violence and children-in-jeopardy.
